Counselling. Counselling in chair

Counselling, long term , short term , single session therapy £45-£70

Due to Covid19, I am currently working online, or by telephone rather than in my therapy room. This is because I would be required to wear a mask or visor, and so would my clients, which I feel would make communication between us difficult. I still sit in my therapy room for he online session. my room is quiet and confidential. Most people can find a room, quiet corner, garden building, or car for their online sessions. There are some advantages to online sessions.
No travel time or expense
No worries about leaving the house
Choose a therapist from any area
No worries about the climate and driving
Feel secure in your own home

I realise that in the current climate, some people are suffering a loss of income, and are struggling financially. If you are in this position, I am happy to discuss concessionary rates
I have a wide range of counselling skills in my ‘toolbox’ offering me the flexibility to work with different clients, with different issues in a way which will help them most. there is no one size fits all.
This could be short term counselling, for example to help reduce anxiety or stress. It could be longer term counselling to explore past issues which are having a negative effect on your life and happiness. It could be single session therapy, which is one single longer session, focusing on a specific goal
I will work with you to form a strong healing relationship built on trust, honesty, and mutual respect in order to provide an environment of open exploration into whatever is troubling you.
I work with individuals, and do not offer couples counselling at the moment . Based between the villages of Plaistow and Kirdford,The therapy room is in easy reach of Billingshurst, Haslemere, Petworth and Cranleigh .

For online counselling I use the video platforms Zoom, ( my preference) or Skype .
Please refer to the links below, or seek information online to read more about how these work .
Please also refer to their privacy policies, to gain understanding about what information about your session they may hold, and to check if you accept and agree to their privacy agreements.

Zoom is a video platform , preferred by Counsellors

To visit Zoom [email protected] here to go straight to it

Skype , perhaps more familiar with friends and family

to visit Skype just to go straight to it

I will be in my counselling room during your session. This is a quiet and confidential space . It is important you can find a quiet and confidential space for yourself to engage in your session . Just to mention, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the session will not proceed.

Please give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation if possible. Cancellation less than 24 hours will be chargeable . Cancellation or ‘ no show’ on the day will be still be charged as a session.

I will be ready on time to start our session together. If you are late to the meeting , I will wait 15 minutes . If you are later than that , it will be classified as a ‘ no show ‘

If I have to cancel, I will try to give at least 24 notice. If I have to cancel with less than 24 hours notice , I will offer you your next session at no charge.

In the process of counselling, we will engage in a form of psychological or talking therapy that will offer you a chance to change how you feel, and to live better.
People seek counselling for many different reasons, for example grief, the end of a relationship, anxiety, stress, childhood trauma .
I am trained in an integrative Counselling model, which means I use a range of therapeutic approaches such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), which offers self- help strategies, and Psychodynamic, which explores ways of behaving and thinking which have been learned from the past, (often from childhood) which are unconsciously still being played out in a person’s current life, and controlling it.

The frequency and duration of counselling will depend on the type of difficulty or problem you are facing. In our first session , we will explore what your goal is, what you want to change about your life, feelings, outlook , way of being in the world etc. Some people will benefit from long term therapy. Others will find great changes occur in just a few session. Everyone is unique.
